White Lightning Motorsports Endures Roller Coaster Night at Knoxville

Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (May 17, 2017) – The White Lightning Motorsports team had an up and down night last Saturday at Knoxville Raceway.
Jamie Ball, who was in his third race of the season at the half-mile oval, qualified 14th quickest.
“We did not necessarily meet the goals we wanted to achieve throughout the season this weekend,” he said. “I made qualifying mistakes, which put us in a less desirable position for the remainder of the night.”
Ball finished where he started – third – in a heat race, which lined him up on the outside of the seventh row for the main event.
“We were able to work our way forward in the feature,” he said. “We just needed some cautions to get bunched back up and make more passes. I guess it’s a good thing to be disappointed with a top 10 at Knoxville.”
Ball advanced a handful of positions to post a ninth-place result, which marked his sixth top 10 this year.
Teammate Devin Kline opened the night by timing in 21st quickest in qualifying. He went on to win his first ever 360ci heat race at Knoxville Raceway. That started him on the inside of Ball in the main event.
Unfortunately, Kline was caught up in a crash and he was credited with a 20th-place result.
Ball will return to action this Friday at Rapid Speedway in Rock Rapids, Iowa, with the MSTS Series. Both he and Kline will race on Saturday at Knoxville Raceway.
