Inside Line Promotions – WEST BURLINGTON, Iowa (April 7, 2017) – Jamie Ball led White Lightning Motorsports to a top-10 result during its season opener last Saturday at 34 Raceway, which hosted the first Sprint Invaders race of the season.

“We finally got a race in after trying for two weeks,” he said. “Plus, we always enjoy racing with the Sprint Invaders. It always makes for good racing.”

Due to a high pill draw, Ball started on the last row of a heat race. He advanced four positions to place third, which missed making the dash by only one position.

“After the heat, we felt very good about our chances to advance in the main,” he said.

Ball, who started the main event on the inside of the sixth row, made contact with a fellow competitor around Lap 3 and sustained damage.

“We knew there was no way the car was in good shape after the hard hit,” he said. “We ended up bending the left wheel and Jacob’s ladder, broke the birdcage and the right rear brake rotor was disintegrated. We’re fortunate enough to even salvage a top 10 from that deal.”

Ball overcame the early problem to garner an eighth-place finish. He plans to return to action this Friday and Saturday at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb., for the Bug Eater Bash with the Carpet Land Nebraska 360 Sprints.

“We’re looking forward to going to I-80 Speedway,” he said. “It’s close to home and the track crew always does an excellent job preparing the track and with the way they run of show. Plus, the Nebraska 360s series is another series we really like racing with.

“I think an achievable goal for White Lightning Motorsports is to earn two consecutive top fives. The main thing is just knocking the rust off in preparation for Knoxville next weekend.”

“Sara, Bryan, and Cooper have been great supporters of our race team for years,” Ball said. “They have been providing our race team with custom made ear molds for our RACEceivers as well as providing Larry Ball Jr. with hearing aids the past few years. We love having The Hearing Clinic on board again this year with the White Lightning Motorsports. It’s family owned companies like them that make our race team such a success.”
