Inside Line Promotions – SEDALIA, Mo. (Aug. 23, 2016) – Jamie Ball hit the road last weekend for the first time in a couple of months.

“We got another engine back from Charlie Fisher and we were able to resume our travel schedule,” he said. “It was a weekend full of ups and downs. We got a lot of laps with a lot of good competition.”

The weekend began last Friday at Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, Iowa, with the Sprint Invaders. Ball advanced from third to second place in a heat race, but he was forced to scratch from the remainder of the night because of a mechanical problem.

“I had a decent draw and was able to end up second, which put us in the dash,” he said. “About halfway through the heat race my feet got a bunch of oil on them. When we pulled in it was motor oil and we couldn’t pinpoint the area it was coming from. To be safe we loaded it up and headed home. It was pretty disappointing because we had a really good car.”

The team found an oil line issue and fixed it the next morning before venturing to 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa, with the Sprint Invaders. Ball advanced from fifth to fourth place in a heat race before charging from 10th to fifth place in the main event.

“The car was pretty tight and the track was pretty rough in the heat race,” he said. “I went through a rut and nearly got upside down. I was able to hold on for a fourth-place finish. We got the car loosened up for the feature and I was able to charge from 10th to fifth on a race that went green to checkered so we were pleased with that.”

The weekend concluded on Sunday when Ball made his debut at Missouri State Fair Speedway during the High Roller Classic with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.

“It was a lot of fun experiencing a track I hadn’t been to,” he said. “In the heat race we had two starts called back and I didn’t get the jump on the last one. I got passed by Danny Lasoski (for second), but was able to get by Corey Nelson on the last lap to finish second. That lined us up 10th in the feature.

“The track slicked off to track conditions I’d never experienced. The way you drive in Sedalia is unlike any other half mile I’ve been on. I had some good laps and had some bad laps. I struggled to get a good feel for it. I’m amped up to go back next time with what we learned.”

Ball battled for a top 10 throughout the main event before posting a 13th-place result.

He and White Lightning Motorsports teammate Devin Kline are slated to head to Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, this Saturday for the track’s season finale.
